And just like that we’ve entered the second month of the year. Kicking off with today, the first, we have St Brigid’s Day (Christian) & Imbolc celebrating the beginning of spring in Gaelic, Celtic and Pagan 1 & 2 feb). The 1st also marks the start of LGTBQ+ history month!

2nd is Candlemas (Christian) followed by st Brigid’s Day (Irish bank holiday) on the 3rd.

Valentines on the 14th (this year on a Friday 😍)

Also on the 15th is Lord Buddha’s Parinirvana Day (Buddhist)

Closing the month off with the start of the Ramadan (Muslim) which will begin at the sighting of the crescent moon 🌙

February’s full moon is on the 12th and called the Snow moon, Ice moon or Storm moon – I don’t know about you but I’m rather done with all the storms, rain and wind, so some proper cold would be nice instead!

In the garden it’s been mostly wet wet wet. So much so that my dahlia tubers have developed white fluffy mould 😭 I really hope I can still salvage them 🥺

Still very happy about the patio clearing progress, still lots to do and clean but, I’m happy what I’ve done so far. I’ve been ill for a solid two weeks and it’s been wet and stormy around all that so not much time in the garden as I would’ve liked.

I’ve started my garden journal a little different this year, one of the things I’m doing is tracking the temperatures differently and do a monthly review at the end of the month!

Hopefully more seedlings and seeds sown this month as well as more time outside!
