Happy Pride Month! ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ

And just like that weโ€™re at the start of the 6th month! The greenhouse is fully planted up, a ginger sidekick has a new place to snooze and everything is growing nicely.

Iโ€™m starting off the month of June with the second day of the Food & Music Festival in town and Iโ€™m thrilled to be putting all the glitter on my friendโ€™s kids faces โœจ

Today, the 1st, marks the start of the meteorological summer, pride month ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ and history month for the Gypsy, Roma and Travellers. On the 7th we have the Appleby horse fair (a Traveller & Romany gathering). The 11th marks the start of the Shavuot at sundown (Feast of weeks for the Jews) and 14th – 19th is Hajj, Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca.

The 16th is fatherโ€™s day for most of the world ๐ŸŒ

The 20th is the summer solstice and this marks the start of astronomical summer. This gets celebrated as Midsummer and Litha (litha is pagan)

The 21st is World Humanist Day and letโ€™s hope that there will be a permanent cease fire in Gaza long by then.

Juneโ€™s full moon is known as the Rose moon as well as Strawberry moon, Flower moon or Dyad moon. This month it falls two days past the Solstice on the 22nd.

Some of us may already be lucky enough to be harvesting from our green-spaces, I am not one of those, yet. I look forward to seeing your harvest photos ๐ŸŒฑ

Happy June! ๐ŸŒน
