Nasturtium Capers

Make your own homegrown “poor mans capers” by using nasturtium seeds from your garden or allotment.

Ingredients

Nasturtium Seeds
(still firm & green)
White wine vinegar
Salt
(or to taste)
Peppercorns
(slightly crushed)

Directions

  1. Gather the ingredients.
  2. Rinse and drain the nasturtium seeds and blot them dry on paper towels.
  3. Pour the seeds into a 1-pint canning jar.
  4. Bring the vinegar, salt, and pepper to a boil and pour over the seeds.
  5. Seal and refrigerate the jar, then let them sit for about 3 months. Then enjoy!
