Tasting notes and description

A fast growing prickly shrub often used in an informal mixed hedge to form an impenetrable barrier. The arching stems produce a burst of pale pink flowers in May/June followed by a fantastic show of edible bright red hips. Plant 30-45cm (12-18in) apart. Ultimate height (untrimmed): 2.1m (7ft). Recommended hedge height: 1.2-1.5m (4-5ft). Average growth rate: 45cm (18in) per year.

The fruits are good for rosehip syrup or providing bird food in the winter
